CULTURAMA is a multi-media projection system developed by CULTNAT, the Center for the Documentation of the Cultural and Natural Heritage, affiliated with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The system, based on state-of-the-art information technology, is an excellent tool to provide information about Egypt, both to young people and adults, and in particular to tourists and spectators from various countries. As a matter of fact CULTURAMA has travelled extensively outside Egypt in the recent past. The first time it was shown in Italy was in 2009, on me occasion of the Turin International Book Fair, where it was a great success with the public.
Today’s presentation on the history or Egypt from Pharaonic times to the present day has attracted millions of spectators and it is offered as cultural entertainment in tourist resorts along the Red Sea. For these reasons, the Embassy of Italy has decided to contribute to the Italian version of CULTURAMA, presented here today for the first time in Egypt.

Rotondi Award

SASSOCORVARO – Saturday, September 28, 2013, in the cosy theater of Rocca Ubaldinesca designed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini, the 17th edition of the Rotondi Award, the saviors of Art, took place.
In Sassocorvaro, 17 years ago, the Award Rotondi was born, which brought in the small town of the high Montefeltro important figures of culture and cultural dissemination: from Piero and Alberto Angela to Dario Fo and Franca Rame (a complete list is reported in the web site www.arcadellarte.it).
At the beginning of the award ceremony the mayor of Sassocorvaro, Antonio Alessandrini, presented the 1995 copy of the “Mesnevi” of Gialal ad Din Rumi, received as a gift from Prof. Giuseppe Fanfoni (2012 Prize – section world).
Pasquale Rotondi (Arpino, May 12, 1909 – Rome, January 2, 1991), being appointed in 1939 as Superintendent for the Galleries and Art Works of the Marche Region, was commissioned, during the second world war, for securing the important art works of the Region. He opted for the “Rocca Ubaldinesca” in Sassocorvaro, where over ten thousand works have been moved in the utmost secrecy (the largest rescue of art works in the world).
From 17 years, all those people who engaged themselfes in preserving the artistic inheritance of the world, as appointed by a special jury, are rewarded as “saviours of the art”.
